In this post I will show to you one of the most unique and spectacular jewelry pieces I have ever seen. They are created by Antoanetta. She is the super talented European born designer whose jewelry creations are known for its original designs and incredible craftsmanship. I am happy to have a couple of her incredible rings including this insanely beautiful puzzle band ring and they are without a doubt my favorite and wear them every day. I constantly receive compliments about them and without a doubt they are truly a work of art. In her shop you will find jewelry for every occasion, for every outfit and for every taste. My favorite are the petite rings, but there are also outstanding necklaces, diamond earrings and the most special part – custom jewelry. Antoanetta is well known for its memorable engagement rings, so if you need an engagement ring custom made especially for you – you are at the right place.
In the photos below you will see just a small part of all the gorgeous and unforgettable rings you have ever seen. Not only they are special, but they will make you feel more special than ever;)
I decided to interview Antoanetta, so you can get to know her better and learn more about this special jewelry designer;)
How did you start your label?
I started my first label Etoile around 2005. My focal point was mainly big and bold pieces. I was making stage and editorial inspired jewelry, which I still do. That all came together to what is now my brand, ANTOANETTA.
How do you approach a new collection? Where do your ideas evolve from?
I think the “collection” is an idea that strikes me without much thought. I am quite diverse when it comes to creating jewelry and it is really influenced by my current state of mind. Therefore, it is difficult to unify pieces under a so called, collection. It is more like mini collections within a larger one. Ideas are hidden in plain sight. I see inspiration in things that are absolutely not related to jewelry or art in general. I believe ideas are a product of our subconscious.
What materials and techniques do you favor?
My taste or desire to work with specific materials changes. I am currently obsessed with Rose Gold and Black Diamonds. I think its soft and very chic. I also always liked experimenting with weird materials. I have used anything from nails, bird nets, tape, water drain pipes, you name it. Creating wearable jewelry with an improvised approach never gets old for me.
What was the first piece of jewelry you ever made? How have your designs evolved?
This is a difficult question to answer. I would say the first serious piece of jewelry was a ring that I hand sculpted and carved in wax. It is made in silver and has garnets. My love of textures has pushed me to create numerous organic and asymmetrical pieces. I am currently interested in exploring more simplified or minimalist shapes, where less is more.
How did you come to realize your talent?
I’ve never gave that much thought, but I kept hearing people’s opinion about what I do and the demand for my pieces continued to rise. Everyone has talent, it’s all about discovering yourself.
How do you go about creating a new piece? I’d love to know about your design process—choosing, materials, design development, etc.
The way I approach a new piece depends on the end result I want to achieve. When it is a custom piece there are certain factors that are already in place, such as stones, sentimental ideas and so on. When it is a 100% product of my imagination, I do not put any boundaries. I sketch it or carve it directly in wax and sometimes I fabricate it straight from metal. I’ll use CAD/CAM if I need that brilliant symmetry and accuracy even though I now can make some pretty organic pieces in CAD as well.
Do you have a favorite jewelry designer that you admire?
Absolutely! I really admire British designer Shaun Leane. He has achieved the perfect balance between Couture and Main stream jewelry. He also worked closely with my other favorite fashion designer Alexander McQueen.
What inspired your current collection?
I can’t say much now because I’m still in the creation process, but imagine – technology and the alienation we live in, dressed in flawless diamonds. How is that?
What’s next for ANTOANETTA?
The interest in my jewelry is growing and I have received some pretty attractive propositions from Asia, so I would say that’s next!
